As part of the Distant Stitch Summer School I had the great pleasure of developing new techniques with Cas Holmes. She taught the momigami technique which has been used in my panel. This involves scrunching paper with oiled hands until a beautiful texture is achieved. The emphasis was on recycling existing fabrics and paper.
Paper and fabrics were printed and layered. This is the arrangement before it was pasted down.
And this is after the paste had dried.
I added some tucks and stitching.
This is another sample I did at Summer School. It includes part of an old tea towel and a bank note. Again it has been tucked and stictched after it dried.Back to Pinboard
